For my FMP I created a 1:250 scale replica of my house, it is made up of 40 sheets of hand-cut card creating the cross-sections. Each piece of card is hung on a sliding framework so that the viewer can peer inside and view the space within the model from any angle.

For my FMP I won the ‘Best Research’ award.

As part of the work for the Romeo & Juliet play I created two merchandise posters by embroidery. I initially wanted to create a poster with moving thread shown by the first image which is why the imagery was designed using very similar elements but through encountered problems I created two separate embroidered posters.

We had to create an advertising campaign for our local theatre’s adaptation of a Shakespeare play. Having chosen Romeo & Juliet I decided to create posters and base the imagery on both of their methods of death contrasting with the usual depiction of a tale of love.

Here’s a new identification system I created based on Name (blue), Date of Birth (Red) and Place of Birth (Yellow). The identification system is made up of three layers based on each of these, and to show each layer clearly I have used the primary colours of which overlapping layers can be worked out by the secondary or tertiary colour produced. The distance of the line towards the centre of the circle signifies a letter so the letter ‘J’ would be 10/26 of the distance and the spacing between each character is based on the number of characters using the full circle. The central cross is merely for alignment when scanning the image so that the layers are read correctly. The idea was that upon birth every person would get a means of identification which would last them through life as the three facts chosen would never change, the final image is what my identification would look like stating, Jamie Peter Adams, 16 01 1993, Basildon Essex England. The three facts chosen are obviously not 100% unique to any individual but combined offer incredibly low chances of having two identical identifications, as shown by my representation of my tutor group ‘Corvus’ showing the variation between the students.

Here are some of the postcards we had to create based on our visit to Southend, we had to create a more realistic view of Southend rather than the ideal images typical of postcards.

Here I’ve made a hand-drawn typeface created from found textures around Elephant & Castle, the font is based on the Garamond typeface. Different textures correspond to the different parts of anatomy found within type. The first three images are of the original hand-drawn type whilst the latter three are of screen prints I tried with varying colours.
